All safely gathered in, part 1

I have a goal to have a full three month food storage by the end of the year. Why you ask? Because not only is it smart to be prepared, but there is a certain security in knowing your family will be fine if anything happens financially. We are students, so we haven't been effected by the job crisis out there, but we have had friends who have been and I love that we can help there families with food items.

I am lucky to have a mother who taught me how to cook, make jam, sew (sometimes against my will). I have been able to be a better mother and wife from the things that she has taught me, and for that I will be FOREVER grateful! Thanks Mom!

This is the before:

And the after, YUM!

Any of you who need some Jam, you know where to find us!

You are more than welcome! I made my batches of jam today, too. More to come: strawberry jam, while I cook dinner.

Thanks for allthe nice things you said--I love that you are creating a comfortable home for your family.

Isn't it amazing all of the things that we thought were so lame as teenagers, that are not only so important now, but so fun!? Yay for food storage!
