A change of Heart, literally

So... we got some news last week that they thought I had Cardiomyopathy, and turns out I do. Cardiomyopathy is where you have a swollen heart, it happens to some women after giving birth, so really my heart did get bigger to fit the love I have for this new little baby. What does all of this mean? Well, it means I am on so called "bed rest" for 6 months. I can't do anything and yes I mean ANYTHING!! My doctor's exact words were "I can't do anything that increases my blood pressure or heart rate" So... there is a lot more about it but at this point I am just overwhelmed by what I do know and that is enough.

You can go to www.womenheart.org to support the research into why this happens to women after having a baby.

Thanks for all the support and prayers in my behalf.

Oh my goodness Barb! You have to call me so we can chat.

My cousin was diagnoses with Postpartum Cardiomyopothy 20 years ago. And with Noah's condition, I'm all to familiar with that precious organ.

You will be in my prayers. And good luck with the Best Rest. That alone is bound to raise your blood pressure. My goodness... seriously, catch me on facebook or send me an email so I can give you my number.

You're the best! What else can I say? And you've got a great husband and terrific kids--you'll get through this with lots of support from there and here.

Oh my goodness, Barb! I will for sure send Landon over to do all of your dishes now! ;) Seriously though, I'm worried about you! I wish I lived closer so I could be amongst all the great people it sounds like you have to help. If there is anything I can do from afar, please let me know. So are the doctors saying that after six months you should be better?

Oh Barbara. I'm not sure what to say, except you are in our prayers. Hang in there and know you have loved ones all around you.

Oh, I can't even imagine how difficult it is to do nothing with a new little baby in the house, not to mention the rest of your family to take care of! Wish we lived closer so I could help out somehow... KNow that you are in my thoughts and prayers.
